ISO on Digital SLR Camera

The ISO reading on a digital camera is the indicates how light sensitive the camera is. A higher ISO rating is more sensitive whilst a lower ISO rating is less sensitive. Most compact digital camera has an ISO of between 100 - 400, however when you ove up to the digital single lens reflex (SLR) cameras, they range from 100 - 1600 or more. Therefore, with very low light, digital SLR cameras can take great pictures.
